Someone, maybe a visitor to your street, parks in front of your mailbox, causing you to miss your mail or have to do gymnastics to check your box. It is frustrating. But what can you do? Mahomet Library Referendum Misses by 70 Votes
A referendum to issue bonds to assist with the cost of expanding the Mahomet Public Library failed by a total of only 70 votes in the primary election held March 17th. With 2,702 people voting, the final tally was 1,316 (48.7%) votes for the proposal, and 1,386 (51.3 %) votes against. With some mail-in ballots still to be counted, the outcome is unofficial, but library officials have said it is highly unlikely that the remaining mail-in ballots would change the outcome. H

Mahomet Location among Polling Places Closed March 17th
Champaign County Clerk Aaron Ammons has issued a list of polling places that will not be open for the March 17th primary location due to a shortage of election judges. Life Vineyard Church in Mahomet was among those listed, meaning that voting will not take place there on March 17th.
