Know Before You Go: Mahomet Soda Fest

The 6th-Annual Mahomet Soda Fest, a signature event of the Mahomet Chamber of Commerce, will take place this Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The day-long festival offers attendees the chance to taste over 100 unique sodas and vote for a town favorite. (Last year’s favorite flavor was pickle soda!) Keep reading to find out everything you need to know before you go to Soda Fest!


Where does the event take place?

The festival activities and tasting booths are set up on Main Street, which is closed to traffic, with ticket tables set up at Elm & Main and Lombard & Main.


Is the event free?

While the event is free to attend, patrons must purchase tickets to taste sodas. Both cash and credit cards are accepted at Soda Fest. The pricing structure is:

  • Tasting Card: Ten tastings - $12

  • Individual Wristband: Unlimited Tastings - $30

  • Family Pack: 2 Tasting Cards & 2 wristbands - $70


Note: you can also purchase full-size sodas to take home, while supplies last (some favorite flavors do run out).


What else happens at Soda Fest?

There are a variety of activities happening besides soda tastings, including

  • A kid's area with a bounce house and games (set up on the south side of the green space),

  • Local vendor booths showcasing their goods throughout the festival,

  • Live music (on stage located on the southwest side of the green space), and

  • Food for purchase.


Tables and chairs will be set up in the middle of the green space. You are also welcome to bring your own camp chairs.


Did you say live music? Who will be performing?

  • Lexi Tieffel (12-1 pm) Mahomet local and American Idol alum, singer-songwriter style

  • Love Sign (2-4 pm) Energetic variety band with a rockabilly twist

  • DJ Maggie Baker (throughout the event)


What about food?

Several food trucks will be open at Soda Fest, located along the driveway on the west side of the green space and along S. Jefferson Street on the east side of the green space:

  • Patty Daddy’s

  • Olde Tyme Kettle Corn

  • Cundiff Meatworks

  • Mamma D’s Smokehouse

  • Juanito’s Tacos

  • Ice Daddy’s

  • The Main Scoop

  • TCBY


What is the parking situation for Soda Fest?

The following areas are recommended for parking at Soda Fest:

  • The south lot of the Sangamon Building (601 E. Main Street), which can be accessed via S. Jefferson Street),

  • the grass behind Wespark Shopping Center (located at 604 E. Main Street, but the grass can be accessed via Franklin Street),

  • and the streets surrounding Main Street.


Please be respectful in parking lots of neighboring open businesses.


This event is organized by the Mahomet Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by local Mahomet businesses, who contribute financially and run the many booths that make up Soda Fest.
