Flowers, herbs and tomatoes head up the list of the plants you can pick up this weekend at the Annual MSHS Plant Sale. The sale gives Ag Business students the opportunity to run an actual business, with proceeds supporting student scholarships. Here is everything you need to "know before you go" about this year's plant sale:
Where is it? The sale takes place at the MHSH greenhouse, located behind the high school by the football field. Parking is available near the greenhouse, on the west side of the school, or in the main parking lot in front of the building and walk around. At busy times, you may need to park on the street and walk over.
MSHS is located at 302 W State St, Mahomet, IL 61853.
What is for sale? Lots of flowers, a variety of tomato plants, herbs and more. To see a complete list of the plants available, sorted by the table they are grown on, check out the greenhouse guide at msagsupply.com.
Free Community Youth Ag Show 9-11 am on Saturday, May 2nd
Ag student at the high school put on a free show for the youth of the community on Saturday from 9-11 a.m. The Ag show features a petting zoo -featuring a ow, horse, donkey, pigs, rabbit, and sheep. Students run booths on various ag-related subjects, with hands-on activities for the kids. The Ag Show is free and gives kids something to do while their caregiver shops for plants.

5" square pots are $5.00
Hanging basket is $15.00
Large pot is $20.00
What payment methods are available? Credit/debit card, cash and check are all taken.
What are the dates and hours of the sale?
Friday 5/1 8am - 7pm
Saturday 5/2 8am - 2pm
Sunday 5/3 12pm - 2 pm
Saturday 5/9 8am - 2pm
Who grows the plants and runs the sale? Plants are grown and sold by students who are part of the Ag Business class at the high school. All proceeds go to student scholarships for the class.
Do the sale usually run out of plants? Which are most popular? Students tell us that the most popular plants at the sale are usually the annual flowers. Last year, plants sold out and the sale ended early. They encourage customers to come early for the best variety of plants.
What is the Ag Supply Store? The Ag Supply Store is a business managed and run by students in the Ag Business class. The students partner with Prairieland Feeds in Savoy and essentially sell everything they sell. This includes food and supplies for cats, dogs, other pets and livestock, as well as various home goods. The store is located on the north side of the high school. Enter via the door marked Ag Supply Store. Store hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am - 3pm.
