· A Village Board Study Session will take place Tuesday, May 12 (6 p.m., 503 E. Main Street). The agenda (linked here) includes a tentative budget for the 2027 fiscal year as well as regular departmental updates.

· This month’s Tuesday Night Book Club at the library will meet on Tuesday, May 12 to discuss Sandwich by Catherine Newman (6:30 p.m., 1602 E. Oak Street).

· On Friday, May 15, Breakfast with Bat Scientists (4:30 a.m., Lake of the Woods at the Covered Bridge) invites registrants to assist with data collection in the field as bats return to their roosting spot in Lake of the Woods. Coffee and pastries will be provided following the field work. Register by May 13. $5

· For the first time, Yellow & Co. will host a Line-Dancing Night on Friday, May 15 (7 p.m. at 1830 Patton Dr. Suite 2). $8 (Buy tickets)

After 28 years of doing free tax preparation for seniors in Mahomet, Brenda Farney is retiring. Come honor her this Saturday 1-3 pm at MPL.

· Come out to the Mahomet Library for a Thank You Reception for Brenda Farney, who is retiring after 28 years of volunteering with the AARP Tax Service. (1:00 – 3:00 p.m., 1702 E Oak St.) No RSVP required.

· Botanical Bingo Night @ Main Street Botanicals on Saturday, May 16 offers a fun way to win plants, flowers, and other products (6:00 p.m., 410 E. Main Street). Pay $2, $5, or $10 per bingo card. (Register here)

· For a crafty pair, You & Me Fairy Garden Workshop @ The Hive provides the materials and prompts to create a custom, large fairy garden on Sunday, May 17 (1 p.m., 1828 Patton Dr.). $40 (Details here)

· Sign up for Photos in a Forest to learn about camera basics and composition and use your knowledge to take photographs at Lake of the Woods. The instructor will provide assistance and feedback. Register by My 13. $5

This week’s Mahomet-Seymour High School athletic games include JV Baseball vs. Monticello (May 11 @ 5 p.m.), Varsity Softball (May 11 @ 5 p.m.), and Varsity Baseball (May 11 @ 7 p.m.), all taking place at home.
