It is the last full week of the year for Mahomet-Seymour Community Schools! As we head into summer, the town calendar is ramping up with annual kick-off events, graduations, year-end meetings, and more. Check out the full community calendar at the bottom of our homepage for details!
A Regular School Board Meeting will take place Monday, May 18 (6:30 p.m., 1301 S. Bulldog Drive). The agenda can be found here, and the meeting can be viewed online here.
Looking for a zen activity? Mahomet Public Library will host an Adult Crafternoon where adults can mingle while making perler bead magnets on Tuesday, May 19 (1 p.m., 1702 E. Oak Street). Registration required.
Caregivers in the community can join the Circle of Care Support Group, meeting Wednesday, May 20 (2 p.m., 1505 Patton Drive), to explore ways to cope during an emotional season of life. Members do not need to have a family member residing at Bridle Brook to attend.
Join the Mahomet Area Chamber of Commerce for its monthly Chamber Luncheon, Thursday May 21 @ Briks Pizzeria, featuring Jayci Trujillo of Happy Girl Marketing (11:30 a.m., 1705 Patton Drive). Register here, $20
Get some laughs at Yellow & Co’s 4th Annual Comedy Competition, taking place in 3 rounds across Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23 (1830 Patton Drive). The audience will participate in judging as 16 comedians compete to win. (More info) $10 or $25 for 3 shows.
Congratulations, Bulldogs! Mahomet-Seymour High School Graduation takes place Friday, May 22 at the State Farm Center in Champaign (7 p.m., 1801 South 1st Street). No tickets required; parking is $5.
The deadline for Community-Wide Garage Sale sign-up is coming up on May 25th. Community-wide garage sale weekend in Mahomet is May 28-30. If you are planning to participate, post your garage sale here.
Summer starts with Mahomet Public Library’s classic I Spy Summer Kickoff event on Saturday, May 23 (9 a.m., 703 S. MacDougal Road and 1702 E. Oak Street). Cheer on the Bulldogs at Varsity Baseball vs. Peoria Notre Dame (May 18, 5 p.m.) and Varsity Girls Softball Regionals (May 20, 5 p.m.).
