The Community Calendar this week is particularly packed with crafting events, so be sure to check it out if you have arty interests! As usual, there are also plenty of ways to exercise, give back to the community, and gather for fun. Below, a few highlighted events to consider adding to your calendar.

This month’s Village Board of Trustees Meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 28 (6 p.m., 503 E. Main Street). Remember that the board meetings are when voting takes place. This week’s agenda includes voting on several ordinances, including the liquor and gaming codes and the regulation of scooters, bicycles, and skateboards at certain locations.
Kids entering grades 2-5 can attend this week’s Wonder Club at Mahomet Public Library on Wednesday, July 29, where they will have the chance to “Paint and Print with Plants.” This and other events at MPL this week mark the last of different event series this summer, so check the MPL calendar for more! This Thursday, July 30 try out yoga with a free Beginner Vinyasa Flow class at Lake of the Woods (7 p.m., LOW Peninsula, 101 N. Lake of the Woods Road). Grow strong while connecting with your breath! (More info) Free
Run Mahomet takes place this weekend, kicking off with the Main Street Mile on Friday, July 31. Register to walk or run, or simply head downtown for fun spectating, food, and music. The 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon will take place Saturday, August 1, all starting at M-S High School.
Pokémon enthusiasts can go to Rad Lad Games on Saturday, August 1 for a kid-friendly Mega Pokémon Trade event, where collectors can meet to trade with one another (1 p.m., 415 E. Main Street). Free
On Sunday, August 2, Yellow & Co. will host a Muumuus and Mimosas Singalong Brunch in collaboration with The Hive Honey Beetique and Maggie Baker (12 p.m., 1830 Patton Drive). Build a brunch charcuterie box and enjoy it while sipping a beverage and shopping! (Buy tickets here) $25
