One of Mahomet’s biggest weekends of the year, the Mahomet Music Festival, is set to take place August 28-29. This signature event features seven different musical acts across two days, plus a carnival, food court, vendor booths on Main Street, and a VIP party tent. This year, the festival will celebrate America 250 with a United States theme for its traditional parade, scheduled for Saturday, August 29 at 9 a.m.

Each year, the festival is made possible by volunteers who help set up and tear down the festival grounds, work carnival games and ticket sales, provide security monitoring throughout the festival, and more. Volunteers help in 2-hour increments and are able to count these hours as community service. Those interested in assisting should send an e-mail to the organizers here.
