Shopper's Guide to Community-Wide Garage Sales
Updated: 2 hours ago
Mahomet is the place to be for bargain hunters this week, with our Fall Community-Wide Garage Sales and the Mahomet Public Library Fall Book Sale both taking place.
Mahomet residents are ready to resell homewares, kids items, clothing, furniture, tools, and more on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Friends of the Mahomet Public Library have tons of used books of all genres on offer at the Book Sale taking place Thursday through Sunday.
We are excited to share a complete list of garage sales, including item descriptions, as well as an online map of town noting the addresses of each sale. Sales take place at varying times each day, so be sure to consult the list to create a shopping plan. You can browse sales on this site at https://www.everythingmahomet.com/garagesales or download and print out the full list below.

The interactive map of sales will be found online using Google maps: click here.
Printed copies of the garage sale list will be available at Mahomet Public Library. Library hours are: Mon - Thur 9 am - 5 pm, Fri am - 6 pm, Sat 9 am - 5 pm and Sun 1-5 pm.
Why is there no printed map? The shape of Mahomet makes a printed map practically impossible to do. An 8.5" x 11" map with all sales would have streets so small that no street names would be visible.
Those hosting a garage sale should consider taking any leftover items to It Takes a Village, which will host a Donation Drive on Saturday, October 17 from 12-4 p.m. Please note that they do not take furniture, exercise equipment, baby beds or car seats. Questions can be directed to (217) 590-5888.
If you get hungry while in town, be sure and check out one of our many restaurants, from the brand-new Brik's Pizzeria with their brick oven pizza and kid-friendly outdoor patio with games, to long-time favorites like Filippo's and the humble-looking but delicious It'll Do Bar & Grill. For a full list of restaurants in Mahomet (with menus), click: Mahomet Restaurant Directory.
Note for Garage Sale Organizers: sales that were added after Sunday, October 11 will be added to the online list, but will not be added to the Google map or printed lists. We cannot make changes to your sale beginning October 12. All information in the listings came from the forms that were submitted. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we manage this very complex event.
