The Village will offer its first round of brush and limb pick-up the week of October 5. Official information regarding this process can be found here, with a summary below.

What will they take?

  • Brush, shrub, and tree limbs no longer than five (5) feet in length and no greater than six (6) inches in diameter

  • Woody stems and dried perennial plant debris greater than one (1) foot in length

What will they not take?

  • Brush piles in excess of eight feet long by five feet deep by 4 feet tall (8’ x 5’ x 4’)

  • Soil

  • Lawn grass/sod and weeds

  • Root masses from plants, shrubs or trees

How should I place my limbs?

  • Brush and tree limbs, similarly aligned, are to be placed in distinct piles within three feet of the curb or street edge, perpendicular to the curb or street edge.

What if my limbs are too big? Unfortunately, the Village cannot accept complete trees or materials thicker than 6 inches or longer than 5 feet. For entire trees or materials outside of our guidelines, you will need to contact a private tree service for removal or Mahomet Landscapes directly at (217) 586-2520.

When will pickup actually happen? The Village picks up materials in order of areas, roughly proceeding west-east through

town. Area 1 will be picked up on Monday, Area 2 on Tuesday, and so on.

When are the next collection dates? October 19-23 and 26-30: Leaf Collection November 2-20 (excepting November 11): Leaf Collection November 23-25: Leaf Collection (with all areas encouraged to put out their leaves by 7 a.m. on November 23, as this pass through town is accelerated)
